Located in the charming Cambridge Square in Ooltewah, TN, we proudly serve the greater Chattanooga area. As a dedicated boutique, we offer a carefully curated selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories. Our aim is to provide a unique shopping experience, enhanced by the vibrant events and workshops we host throughout the year.
The Journey
I’m Melissa, the owner of Barn Door Boutique. I was born and raised in Kansas (Go Chiefs!) and now call Georgia (TN/GA Stateline) my home, with my boutique nestled right outside of Chattanooga in Tennessee.
After a fulfilling 27-year career in the banking industry I decided it was time for a change. My husband, Jim, encouraged me to pursue my dream of owning a business where I could continue building relationships and fostering community connections. In January 2018, I had the opportunity to purchase Barn Door Boutique, which had already been in operation for a year. I dove into the boutique industry with enthusiasm, learning every aspect and enjoying the growth and evolution of the store.
Our Team and Values
Our fabulous BDB Team is integral to our success. They share my passion for providing excellent customer service and making every shopping experience memorable. We love our Barn Door Bellas—our female shoppers who showcase our clothing, shoes, and accessories on social media. Their enthusiasm and support have been a significant part of our journey.
Personal Touch
Aside from running Barn Door Boutique, I'm happily married to Jim, who owns Victory Sign Industries. We've been married for 36 wonderful years and have a beautiful daughter, Alli, who blessed us with three grandbabies: Ryker, Braylee, and Camryn, who lovingly call me “Bird.” Our family also includes two standard poodles, Charlie and Oliver James, who occasionally visit the boutique and enjoy greeting our customers with a treat or two.
